What to expect at your first appointment

We know visiting a new dentist can feel uncertain — so we make your first visit as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Check-In & Paperwork (10–15 min before)
Arrive a few minutes early to complete your new patient forms. You can also call ahead and we'll walk you through them over the phone or by email.

Comprehensive Oral Exam
Dr. Palaparthi will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw — checking for cavities, gum disease, and any other concerns.

Digital X-Rays
We use low-radiation digital X-rays to see what's happening beneath the surface. They're fast, safe, and give us a complete picture of your oral health.

Professional Cleaning
Our hygienist will remove plaque and tartar buildup, then polish your teeth for a fresh, clean feeling you'll notice immediately.

Treatment Plan & Q&A
We review your results, answer all your questions, and walk you through any recommended treatment — with clear costs and timeline. No pressure, ever.

What should I bring to my first dental appointment?
A valid photo ID, your dental insurance card, a list of current medications, and any X-rays from a previous dentist. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete new patient paperwork.
Does PrimeCare Family Dental accept Medicaid?
Yes. We accept Indiana Medicaid (Hoosier Healthwise) for children's dental care at both Indianapolis locations. We also accept most major private dental insurance plans.
How do I schedule my first appointment?
Call 866-77-TOOTH, call either location directly, or book online. Same-week and same-day appointments are often available.
What happens at a new patient exam?
A comprehensive oral exam, digital X-rays, professional cleaning, gum health screening, oral cancer screening, and a full treatment plan discussion.
Does PrimeCare offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer CareCredit financing and in-office payment options. Our team reviews your insurance benefits before your appointment and provides a clear cost estimate.
Does PrimeCare treat children?
Absolutely. We welcome patients of all ages including young children. We accept Medicaid for kids and encourage early dental visits starting around age 1.
